How the terrorists win
Now that a few disgruntled radical nut cases have bombed the Tube, there will be a big push to start searching people getting on the subways.
In the midst of a big wave of emotional fear, logic takes a back seat. So, don't be surprised if they start searching people before letting them on the Tube. The sad thing is that this is how the terrorists win. Our society is shut down, our freedoms are restricted, and we are no safer in the end. When the rallying cry is "We have to do something!", then emotion carries the day, and an inchoate solution will be hastily codified into law.
Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail. Searching people when they get on buses and tubes will not make us safer. It will only slow us down and make us sitting ducks.

I was looking for this a while back. Secure Beneath the Watchful Eyes. I was thinking about it today. I have a prediction...the watchful eyes saw nothing, and the people that were killed will remain dead.
