The Patriot Act violates the constitution

The Patriot Act is anything but patriotic. Get the facts here.

I would hardly defer to the ACLU to decide what is and is not constitutional.

As their president noted:

"I don't want to dwell on constitutional analysis, because our view has never been that civil liberties are necessarily coextensive with constitutional rights. Conversely, I guess the fact that something is mentioned in the Constitution doesn't necessarily mean that it is a fundamental civil liberty."

(followup: Letters in the January 1995 issue. Worth reading.)

Any intersection between the agenda of the ACLU and the protection of constitutional rights is purely coincidental.

Better to support organizations like the Institute for Justice and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
