Microsoft SyncToy
After wrestling with my little Buffalo TeraStation all day yesterday, I decided I'd try to install the BuffaloTech backup/archive utility yesterday. It was a piece of garbage. Don't waste your time.
So, I started kicking around for a decent free backup utility and found the Microsoft SyncToy. For what I want to do, it's perfect. Basically, I want to sync files and folders from my PC to my Buffalo TeraStation RAID level 5.(There are lots of options about what you can do with file renames, deletes, etc.)
So now I have nightly backups running that copy any new files to my TeraStation. Because they run at night, I don't have to sit in the office while 5 computers are grinding away like a marble in a disposal.
But for what I want, it's perfect. And, of course, the price is right.
