Jen's New Assault Rifle
I had a tree-hugger's kid in my truck yesterday and she was so excited about "President Obama". I had to point out to her that he is not, in fact, the president. He is the "President Elect". I'm sure that all of these brainwashed socialist children have missed that, but he is not the president.
On a related note, Jennifer has been on me for some time to get her an assault rifle. With the election of "The One", it doesn't take a genius to figure out that now is the time to buy.
I've been tire-kicking AR-15's since shortly before the election. Since the election, however, the assault rifles have been flying off the shelves. The gun stores can't keep AR-15's in stock and the manufactures can't produce them fast enough.
The gun shows are more like 3 ring circuses and the people aren't buying old carbines or 12 gauges. They're buying AR-15's with bayonet lugs, collapsible stocks, detachable magazines, and flash suppressors.

The feedback of the finger on the trigger is valid and accepted. I told her to put her finger on the trigger, for the photo. Probably not the best advice I ever gave her. But she knows about muzzle discipline - "Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to kill." And to "treat every gun as though it were loaded." Valid point on the trigger though. Point taken.

Actually Obama is not even the President Elect yet, because he has not yet been elected. The Electoral College picks the President, the popular vote merely advises them. Obama electors are free to vote for someone else (in most states). Therefore while we presume that they will elect Obama, we don't know that they will.
