Oktoberfest Promotion
Last week, I encountered a group of people in downtown Boulder promoting their upcoming Oktoberfest celebration. Yesterday, I went back to downtown, with a camera this time, figuring they would be doing the same thing on a Friday evening.
Sunset was at 6:42 P.M., giving me about an hour of light. This caused some problems, as subjects were moving between shadows and bright sunlight faster than I could adjust the settings on my camera (or figure out which settings to use).
Something I didn't count on was the crowds. They would often walk between me and the subject while I was trying to frame a shot. And I had to be careful not to bump into anyone as I moved into position for a shot, which often involved stepping backwards and sideways. Of course, what did I expect at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon?

The subjects had moved into shadow, and I forgot to turn my flash on, so this picture came out dark. Below is the result after adjusting the exposure of the picture using Apple's "Preview" application.
About half an hour later (around 6:15 P.M.), I ran into them pushing the motor scooter down the Pearl Street Mall while handing out promotional post cards.
