Unfortunately, this was not a joke. Although this trip has been a pleasant one, all things considered. It has been a lot of fun. However, from a purely technological perspective, the trip has been a nightmare. So far, I'm out two cameras, one laptop, and one gps. I may well have lost every image taken on the trip prior to yesterday.
Initially, I was somewhat upset when my laptop crashed. However, I am over it now. Life goes on. If it was easy to ship a 600mm lens across the planet and shoot in the rain forests, then everyone would do it. This is sort of the nature of the beast, I'm afraid.
I did go around today and try to re-shoot a lot of photos. We drove around to the north end of the island and went on some roads I'd never been on before, which was fun. Flew back to Oahu. Went down to the main drag in Waikiki. Tomorrow is our last day in Hawaii. Praying we'll make it home without any further technological calamities.
