April 19th
Today is April 19th. For those of you playing the home game, that was the start of the American Revolution, Waco, Columbine, Hitler's suicide, etc.

"Today is April 19th. For those of you playing the home game, that was the start of the American Revolution, Waco, Columbine, Hitler's suicide, etc."
The Columbine shootings were on April 20th, 1999 -- not April 19th.
But even a few weeks after the shooting, I would often make the same mistake because the Waco raid (April 19th, 1993) and the Oklahoma City bombing (April 19th, 1995) were still recent memories. It was easy to conflate the dates with Columbine, since all 3 events affected the gun control debate of the 1990s.
On the other hand, Hitler's birthday was April 20th, 1889, but he committed suicide on April 30th -- not the 19th -- 1945.

So, Columbine was planned for April 19th, but they had to postpone it a day for reasons I don't recall. Wasn't sure on the Hitler deal. That was the first I'd heard that one.
