Taller [Spanish] = Workshop [English]
One of the things that's been bothering me is all these signs that say "something-or-other taller". And I'm like...what in the hell do they mean by that?
Turns out that "taller" in Spanish = "workshop" in English.
So that clears up a lot of things.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Well, if they have their own language, and their own words, then that's easier to grasp. But when they take our words and assign new meanings to them, it's somewhat confusing. :P

HI, can I ask a few things about Panama? Ive been told its a great place to holiday, that there are some hotels in national park area and its all paradise... and not many mosquitos..... Seen anything like that on your travels?
Loving reading about your adventures.

Nevada Joe,
Panama is a nice place to holiday. I'll go along with that. But not many mosquitoes? Not so clear on that one. At the Riande Tocument Airport Hotel, the mosquitoes will carry you away when the sun goes down.
It seems to be greener in the north (Carribbean side), and slightly cooler there also. Panama City is not as wet, but warmer than the Carribbean side.
Uvisa is amazing in that, civilization basically ends there, and SENAFRONT guards the port. I've heard that there are some other nice places to vacation on the Pacific side, but I've not seen them with my own eyes.
Also, Panama City has an amazing skyline, and lots of nice 150 floor high rises. But it also has some pretty serious traffic jams.
So, if I were to go somewhere in Panama, I might fly into Panama City/Tocumen, but then head out to smaller area with a private beach would probably be the best plan. Probably on TripAdvisor.com they would have some good resorts to suggest. I was mainly looking to get down to Uvisa and get my photo taken at the end of the PanAmerican Highway. Then, when you're wanting to get your motorcycle shipped to Colombia, you pretty much end up in Portobelo (or Puerto Lindo). I probably wouldn't recommend these necessarily as resort destinations, as we're pretty far off the beaten path, and not a ton of stuff to do out here, but the ocean and the rain forests and the beaches are beautiful.

Thank you Mr Kiser - was really interested in your opinion. The rumour about mosquitos comes from the fact that the place was carpet-bombed with DDT during creation of the canal.

Yeah...probably the DDT worked for a while, but they're back in force now. I got bit by a mosquito last night in Portobelo. Doh!
