Learning Spanish with Spanish/English Subtitles

I speak Spanish well enough, that I can communicate with people and make them understand what I'm saying. The problem I have is when they speak back to me, I don't really get what they're saying, usually.

It seems to me that, watching a person speaking Spanish, with English/Spanish subititles, is the only way that I'd ever grasp what they're actually saying.
