March Blizzard of 2024

They're saying we're supposed to get something crazy like 18" to 48" from Wed (3/13) through Fri (3/15). Not sure how much snow we'll get, but for the record, it has started snowing now (1:00 a.m. 3/13/2024).

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON WEDNESDAY TO 6 AM MDT FRIDAY

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 18 to
36 inches, with isolated totals up to 48 inches possible. Heaviest
amounts expected along the eastern slopes of the Front Range,
lesser amounts will occur west of the Continental Divide. Winds
could gust as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range,
the Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, the Indian
Peaks, and the Front Range Foothills.

* WHEN...From noon Wednesday to 6 AM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Snow covered roads will make travel very difficult to
impossible, especially late Wednesday night through Thursday
afternoon.

Wednesday A chance of rain and snow showers before 11am, then rain showers likely between 11am and 5pm, then rain and snow showers likely after 5pm. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy, with a high near 51. North wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday Night Rain before 7pm, then rain and snow between 7pm and 8pm, then snow after 8pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 28. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Thursday Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 33. Breezy, with a north wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.
